Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked Calibo AI Academy to collaborate with universities in the State to train youth in artificial intelligence. He invited the academy to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the IT SEZ in Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam, during his interaction with the company’s leadership on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos.
The Calibo leadership informed Naidu that training programmes for youth have already commenced in Amaravati, with support from the Vattikuti Foundation.
Later, interacting with senior journalists, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh is an industry-friendly State, offering speedy approvals and a simplified regulatory framework to investors. He noted that the government is adopting a “speed of doing business” approach by granting permissions within a short timeframe. He added that escrow accounts and other incentives are being extended to attract investments and accelerate industrialisation.
The Chief Minister said the State Government would monitor investment proposals in real time. He highlighted that IT Minister Nara Lokesh played a key role in securing the proposed $15-billion Google AI data centre in Visakhapatnam through sustained engagement and follow-up.
Naidu said the government is keen on leveraging technology in agriculture and is actively promoting AgriTech initiatives. He also pointed out that the State has signed MoUs to export green ammonia to international markets from AM Green’s plant at Kakinada.
Alongside employment generation across multiple sectors, the government is prioritising the development of Amaravati as a green and blue city. Efforts are also underway to establish a Global Leadership Centre in the capital city. He noted that India’s strong youth population is driving growth, with several sectors moving towards double-digit growth.
Several global entrepreneurs later met the Chief Minister to explore investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
